Set in the Innkeeper Universe Sweep of the Blade follows the adventures of Maud and her daughter. Maud uses her training both as an Innkeeper and in her life as wife to a vampire to earn her place in a new house.

NPCs is a fun look behind the scenes of role-playing games. What are those no player characters up to when you leave on your quest? Some of my favorite bits are spoilers so, suffice to say I have favorite bits and they are delightful twists

In A Natural History of Dragons, an aged naturalist tells the tale of the adventures of her childhood and late teens. They are filled with a scientists love of dragons. Love how Brennan handles the relationships of this piece. There’s one moment of understanding between a father and his daughter that made me so happy for the MC.

I’m keen to read the next book in the series.

It’s great revisiting the Firefly characters in Big Damn Hero. The specific feel that the tv show had for language is preserved. Wash is alive!

The Vampire Knitting Club felt more novella-length which is what I expect from the series in Kindle Unlimited. The MC arrives at her aunt’s knitting shop/home, only to find out that she died some weeks ago. The title rather gives the plot away. There is a knitting club of vampires that meet at the shop the MC has inherited. And it turns out her aunt didn’t die peacefully in her sleep, there is a murder to solve!

If you enjoy this one there is a whole series of them ahead of you.
